3 Haiku's

Colour of mint fades
Like my wavering patience
But I keep trying

Ik blijf proberen
Met sterke overtuigingen
Om te glimlachen

Het is our English
How we praten elke day
Dat my life joy brengt

Nostradamus

Nostradamus zei:
'Kijk nou die vrouw,
Zij is geboren
Om koningin te zijn.

Zelfs met haar korte lokken,
Haar verwilderde haren,
Haar gescheurde broeken
Straalt zij meer macht uit
Dan alle statigheid
In de huidige regime.'

Maar zou zij zich ooit opgeven
Voor de grilligheid
Van absolute status
En absolute absoluutheid?

'Die vreemde is geen vrouw.'
Zeiden alle raadgevers,
'Maar een gek
Die het systeem omschopt
En tegen de lamp
Aanloopt
Van de hierarchie.'

'Ach, kan het mij ook schelen!
Als ik maar kan paard rijden.'

Zei de wereldvreemde koningin,

Die minder vreemd dan normaal is,
Weet dat de aarde rond is,
En Nostradamus zei: ....

The tablet of time

A qualification of time,
A little symbol,
A word.
And all that is mine,
Dependant on the outcome.

For it is not the rain
That is pouring
On my head.
And I going insane
With those maddening dreams?

I want to go outside,
Feel the air,
Touch love.
For all the problems I leave behind
Are so easily forgotten.

But here I sit with this tablet,
Predicting weather
And the time.
So I can form inside my head
An image, of what, outside looks like.
